The Tamara Marina Alleppey to open in December 2026 with 24 Boat Villas

The Tamara Marina Alleppey is scheduled to open in December 2026 on Vembanad Lake in Kerala, introducing a backwater resort featuring 24 boat villas within a private lagoon and 10 waterfront suites. The property combines land-based and floating accommodation while placing emphasis on responsible hospitality, regional craftsmanship, and community engagement.

The resort’s 24 boat villas will operate on battery-powered systems, allowing the zero-emission vessels to navigate the lagoon without the noise associated with conventional engines. Furthermore, the property’s architectural design draws inspiration from the lotus and Kerala’s traditional architectural heritage. Its structures incorporate bamboo domes, intricate latticework, and walls constructed using laterite, mud, and lime.

The resort also integrates traditional building materials and regional craftsmanship into its design and construction. Through its setting along Vembanad Lake, the property aims to offer guests an opportunity to experience the surrounding natural landscape while connecting with communities that have depended on the region’s backwaters for generations.

Meanwhile, the dining experience will showcase Kerala’s culinary heritage and its historical association with the Spice Route. The menu will feature fresh catches sourced directly from local fisherfolk, while guests can also enjoy breakfast on their private villa decks.

Beyond accommodation and dining, The Tamara Marina Alleppey will offer experiences that introduce visitors to local artisan communities. Guests will have opportunities to observe traditional coir-making and explore other regional crafts. These initiatives aim to support the livelihoods of local craftsmen, weavers, and fishing communities while promoting responsible tourism practices.

With its focus on sustainable operations, cultural experiences, and community participation, The Tamara Marina Alleppey aims to develop a hospitality model that brings together nature, local traditions, and contemporary resort experiences. The property seeks to offer guests an opportunity to explore Kerala’s backwater heritage while maintaining a close connection with the surrounding ecosystem and local communities.
