Beauty and fashion retailer Nykaa, operated by FSN E-Commerce Ventures and led by Falguni Nayar, is reportedly in talks with Deepika Padukone’s premium skincare brand 82°E to acquire a majority stake. This move comes as Nykaa continues to strengthen its House of Nykaa portfolio amid intensifying competition in the beauty and personal care market.

“The potential deal hinges on Nykaa’s market leadership position, cumulative beauty customer base of 42 million, and ability to build on repeat orders and scale, to help turn around the flagging 82°E,” one of the executives said.

Notably, Nykaa and Padukone already share a strategic relationship. The platform appointed the actress as its global brand ambassador in September last year, where she led marquee campaigns such as Pink Friday Sale and Nykaaland. However, both Nykaa and 82°E did not respond to queries regarding the ongoing discussions.

Meanwhile, 82°E is expected to retain a minority stake if the deal materializes. However, the brand has struggled to meet growth expectations. Its premium pricing strategy, with products averaging ₹2,500 for 50-ml jars, coupled with unclear positioning and rising competition from digital-first skincare brands, has weighed on performance. Consequently, the direct-to-consumer venture, launched in late 2022, reported a 30% decline in revenue to ₹14.7 crore in FY25, while losses stood at ₹12.26 crore, according to regulatory filings.

On the other hand, Nykaa continues to aggressively expand its footprint and portfolio. The company competes with players such as Reliance Retail’s Tira, Sephora, and Shoppers’ Stop Beauty. In line with its House of Nykaa strategy, the retailer has strengthened its offerings through acquisitions of brands like Nudge Wellness, Dot & Key, and Earth Rhythm.

Furthermore, the company has delivered strong financial performance. It reported a 156% year-on-year jump in net profit to ₹68 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2025. At the same time, consolidated revenue rose 27% to ₹2,873 crore, driven by robust demand and improved margins. Additionally, Nykaa expanded its offline presence by adding 11 new stores and entering four new cities during the quarter, taking its total store count to 276.

At an industry level, a joint report by Nykaa and Redseer highlighted that India is the world’s fastest-growing beauty and personal care market. The report projected the sector to reach $34 billion by 2028, up from $20 billion last year. Moreover, e-commerce continues to lead growth within the segment, supported by increased access to global premium brands, rising discretionary spending, and strong demand from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, alongside a younger consumer base.

Nykaa’s potential investment in 82°E signals a strategic push to consolidate its leadership in India’s rapidly expanding beauty market. While the deal could provide 82°E with the scale and distribution it needs to revive growth, it also reinforces Nykaa’s long-term vision of building a diversified and competitive in-house brand ecosystem.
The post Nykaa in talks to acquire majority stake in Deepika Padukone’s 82°E appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

In recent years, more people are ditching harsh chemicals and turning to natural skincare and chemical-free beauty alternatives. Honestly, it’s no surprise. Consumers are reading labels, doing research, and realizing that what they put on their skin matters just as much as what they eat.

Clean beauty isn’t just a trend, it’s a lifestyle rooted in simplicity, wellness, and getting back to nature. More and more people are swapping out harsh, chemical-heavy products for gentler, natural options, and That is where VedaOils truly shines. Think cold-pressed oils, soothing soap bases, and plant-powered extracts all crafted with purity and sustainability in mind! Whether you are experimenting with your first DIY face mask or running your own skincare line, VedaOils makes it easy to create products that are kind to both skin and the planet.

In a world that is craving cleaner choices, VedaOils is proving that natural can also mean powerful and professional.

Inside VedaOils: From Local Supplier to Global Enabler

What started as a modest operation in India has now turned into a global enabler of clean beauty. VedaOils started with just a few pure essentials: lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus, the kind of oils you turn to for extracting soothing, natural benefits. What began as a small offering has now grown into a full-fledged hub with over 1,000 ingredients for skincare and wellness.

And they are not just selling oils anymore. Their extensive range includes:

Cold-pressed carrier oils like jojoba and almond

Raw butters such as shea and cocoa

Herbal powders, waxes, and soap bases

Natural clays and exfoliants

DIY skincare kits and ready-to-use cosmetic bases

Whether you are a weekend DIY enthusiast or running a full-fledged natural beauty brand, VedaOils has the right ingredients to support your vision.

VedaOils ensures smooth international shipping, delivering premium-quality products worldwide. Backed by trusted global quality certifications like ISO, GMP, and USDA Organic, we guarantee purity, safety, and consistency so customers everywhere receive only the best, hassle-free.

Bridging B2B and D2C Needs

One of the things that really sets VedaOils apart is how seamlessly it caters to both small and large-scale needs. Most of us in the clean beauty space know the struggle of sourcing ingredients in flexible quantities. Too often, bulk suppliers ignore the little guys, while hobby shops fall short on quality and range. VedaOils bridges that gap beautifully.

You can start with a 100g pouch to test a formulation or go all-in with a 25kg drum for manufacturing. No complicated minimum orders. No compromises on quality. That is a big deal for indie brands trying to find their footing or small-batch makers experimenting with new recipes.

Its transparent labeling, spill-proof packaging, and easy online ordering make the whole process feel less like a supply run and more like a curated shopping experience.

Supporting the DIY and Handmade Skincare Movement

What makes VedaOils stand out isn’t just its massive product catalog, it’s how it makes its products. Backed by advanced R&D facilities and modern production units, VedaOils ensures that every ingredient is crafted with care, consistency, and science.

These oils are extracted through traditional techniques like cold press and steam distillation. VedaOils is successful due to its commitment and vision. It also contributes to environment welfare and also is pollution free due to no use of harsh chemicals which damages skin.

Spotlight: Soap Base Segment

The soap bases are free from sulfates, gentle on the skin, and ready to use straight out of the pack taking the guesswork out of clean, conscious beauty.

Whether you are making face masks, soaps, or scrubs, you can feel good knowing you are working with clean beauty ingredients that are gentle yet effective. If you are just starting a soap-making business or running a cozy home-based skincare brand, VedaOil soap base is like a secret weapon.

Growing Global Footprint

Planning to take your brand global? VedaOils is built to grow with you. From seamless logistics to international shipping and customizable private labeling, they make scaling up feel effortless. With a solid footprint in markets like the US, UK, UAE, and Southeast Asia, VedaOils supports everything from B2B and D2C to white-label solutions making it a trusted partner no matter your business model or stage.

What Makes VedaOils Stand Out?

In the clean beauty world, transparency isn’t just a bonus, it is a must. That is where VedaOils shines. Every product includes clear, honest details so you know exactly what you are using. New to formulating? It’s easy DIY guides and educational blogs help you learn as you go. With low minimum orders and sample kits, testing your ideas feels exciting, not overwhelming. Whether you are a hobbyist or launching your own line, VedaOils is more than a supplier as it can be your partner in creativity.

Industry Outlook: A Booming Market for Natural Ingredients

VedaOils brings clarity and confidence to clean beauty. Each product includes clear instructions and safety info, making it easy to use and trust. New to formulating? The DIY guides, blogs, and tutorials of VedaOils simplify the learning process. With low MOQs and sample packs, you can test ideas without overspending. VedaOils offers more than quality ingredients as it provides the tools, knowledge, and support to help you grow your natural skincare journey with ease.

Final Thoughts

Their success lies not in hype, but in heart. They’ve built trust through consistency, supported innovation with quality, and opened doors for creators who want to do better for their skin, their customers, and the planet. So whether you are a hobbyist testing your first shea butter balm or a beauty brand, you can always seek their help and expertise to grow your brand worldwide!
The post VedaOils: The Indian Brand Quietly Powering the Global Natural Skincare Boom appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Honasa Consumer, the parent company of beauty and personal care (BPC) brand Mamaearth, announced that its skincare brand, The Derma Co, supported by active ingredients, has achieved an annual revenue run rate (ARR) of Rs 500 crore. ARR is a metric that predicts a company’s financial performance over a year based on past earnings data.

The company attributes this success to the development of brands offering specialized products tailored for Indian skin and weather conditions. It underscores product differentiation in categories like face serums, hydrating sunscreens, sunscreen sticks, and acne patches. During the last fiscal year, the company sold over 1 crore units.

In the active ingredients skincare segment, The Derma Co competes with brands like Minimalist, backed by Peak XV Partners, and Plum, backed by A91 Partners, as well as global brands such as The Ordinary and Cetaphil.

During its earnings presentation for the October-December quarter, Honasa announced that The Derma Co had achieved profitability at the operating level for the first nine months of fiscal 2024.

Honasa Consumer manages seven brands, including Mamaearth, The Derma Co, Bblunt, Ayuga, Aqualogica, Dr Sheth’s, and the recently introduced color cosmetics brand Staze.

In August of the previous year, the company’s hydration-based skincare brand, Aqualogica, surpassed an annual revenue run rate (ARR) of Rs 150 crore.

“Our success is an output of in-depth consumer study of the evolving consumer demands and being able to innovate swiftly to deliver differentiated propositions to our consumers. This focus on excellence has helped us set new benchmarks across the active ingredient-based skincare segment,” said Varun Alagh, cofounder, chairman and chief executive of Honasa Consumer Limited.

The company reported a remarkable 265% growth in its consolidated net profit to Rs 26 crore for the quarter ended December, compared to Rs 7.1 crore a year ago. Revenue from operations in the third quarter increased by 28% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 488 crore, compared with Rs 382 crore in the same quarter of last year.
The post Honasa Consumer’s The Derma Co achieves annual revenue run rate of Rs 500-Cr appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Foxtale Consumer, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) skincare company, has secured approximately $14 million (Rs 120 crore) in new equity funding, as disclosed in regulatory filings with the Registrar of Companies.

The funding was spearheaded by Panthera Growth Partners, a Singapore-based investment firm, with continued support from existing investors Matrix Partners India and Kae Capital.

Founded in 2021 by Romita Mazumdar, formerly of Mumbai’s A91 Partners, Foxtale Consumer had previously raised $4 million in 2022 from Matrix Partners and Kae Capital.

Panthera Growth Partners has a history of supporting Indian consumer startups like BigBasket, Pepperfry, and Zivame. Meanwhile, Matrix Partners has invested in direct-to-consumer (D2C) startups such as The Whole Truth, Damensch, and Country Delight. Kae Capital, another investor in Foxtale Consumer, has backed startups like Healthkart.

In its first full operational year of 2022-23, Foxtale Consumer reported operating revenue of Rs 14 crore and a net loss of Rs 18 crore. The company strategically invested in branding and marketing efforts, as indicated by regulatory filings from Tofler.

In the skincare segment, which encompasses products like moisturizers, serums, sunscreen lotions, creams, and gels, Foxtale Consumer faces competition from brands like Peak XV Partners, Unilever Ventures-backed Minimalist, Vertex Ventures-backed Pilgrim, Nykaa’s Dot & Key, A91 Partners-backed Plum, and Honasa Consumer’s Mamaearth and The Derma Co.

A study conducted by Redseer Strategy Consultants and Peak XV Partners projects that India’s beauty and personal care market will experience significant growth, with an anticipated compounded annual growth rate of 10% from 2022 to 2027. This expansion is expected to propel the market to a size of $30 billion.

Foxtale Consumer’s recent funding round aligns with a broader trend where risk capital investors are shifting focus toward consumer brands over technology companies. This shift is driven by the relatively high valuations commanded by technology startups in the current investment landscape.

Foxtale Consumer’s recent funding round, securing about $14 million in fresh equity, is part of a broader trend among consumer brands. This includes Mokobara, a luggage maker that raised $12 million in February led by Peak XV Partners, Nat Habit, a beauty and wellness brand that received a $10 million infusion in December 2023 led by Bertelsmann India Investments, and Pilgrim, a personal care brand that secured $20 million in funding in September of the previous year, led by Vertex Ventures.
The post D2C skincare brand Foxtale bags $14 million in funding appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

MakeO, a provider of cosmetic solutions, secured $16 million (equivalent to Rs 135 crore) in its latest funding round. The funding was led by 360 ONE (formerly IIFL Wealth) and Ashish Kacholia’s investment office.

Existing investors, including Eight Roads Ventures and South Korea-based Paramark Ventures, also took part in this round.

The company will use the funds to expand its geographic footprint and scale its experience centres in the country.

Established in 2018 by orthodontists Arpi Mehta Shah, Pravin Shetty, Manjul Jain, and Anirudh Kal, MakeO is a digital-first clinical cosmetic makeover platform. It provides customers with access to dental, skin, and hair treatment solutions.

In May 2022, the company had secured a previous funding round of $40 million.

Initially, MakeO offered the orthodontist-supervised dental aligner Toothsi. Over time, it expanded its services to include at-home laser hair removal treatment known as Skinnsi, among other offerings.

In 2022, the company rebranded itself under the umbrella brand ‘MakeO,’ becoming a comprehensive clinical-grade solutions provider for skin, smile, and hair makeovers. It brought Toothsi and Skinnsi under this umbrella as sub-brands.

Notably, Toothsi has gained celebrity endorsements from cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma.

“Our mission is to ensure that clinical-grade makeovers are more accessible, affordable and convenient to every Indian. The capital will enable us to strengthen our online and offline footprint, offering customers the convenience of accessing our services at their doorstep or through our physical experience centers,” said Dr Arpi Mehta, cofounder and chief executive, MakeO.

Beyond offering clear aligners, MakeO extends its services to include acne removal, anti-ageing treatments, teeth whitening, and dental hygiene products.

With its clear aligners, MakeO has assisted 100,000 customers, and it has served over 150,000 customers across its diverse portfolio of offerings.

“Their approach is truly unique. The technology platform, coupled with physical and digital expert access at every stage, allows MakeO to offer customised dental and derma solutions to its customers,” said Kacholia.

MakeO boasts a network of more than 100 in-house orthodontists, dentists, and dermatologists. It operates over 25 flagship experience centers situated in top Indian metros. Additionally, the company has established partnerships with 400 dental clinics to date.
The post Cosmetic solutions provider MakeO raises $16 million in funding appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.
