Azure Hospitality, the hospitality company co-founded by Rahul Khanna and Kabir Suri, has expanded its dining portfolio with the launch of Jhoom, a new all-day dining restaurant and bar in Chandigarh. Drawing inspiration from India’s cultural heritage, travel influences, music, and culinary traditions, the concept combines architecture, food, and beverages in a nostalgic setting designed for contemporary dining experiences.

Built around the philosophy of “Welcome to Then”, Jhoom draws on India’s bygone eras while reinterpreting their cultural influences through a modern hospitality format. The concept takes inspiration from the grand mansions and estates of Calcutta and Bombay, blending Art Deco architecture with a diverse food and beverage programme influenced by Indian, European, and Asian traditions.

“We wanted Jhoom to have a point of view that guests could experience from the moment they walk in. India has always been a meeting point of cultures, ideas, and influences, and that exchange has shaped everything from our food to our music and the way we gather. With Jhoom, we have taken inspiration from this rich cultural fabric to create a contemporary hospitality concept that feels rooted, distinctive, and relevant today. It is our interpretation of nostalgia not as a recreation of the past, but as a way to create something meaningful for the present,” shared Rahul Khanna, co-founder, Azure Hospitality Pvt Ltd.

The restaurant features two distinct spaces, Kothi and Bagh-e-Jhoom, each representing a different aspect of traditional Indian residential architecture and lifestyle. The indoor section, Kothi, draws inspiration from Art Deco residences, heritage estates in Calcutta and Bombay, and the cultural legacy of India’s traditional gharanas.

Furthermore, the interiors combine the architectural character of traditional Indian mansions with Art Deco’s geometric patterns and design elements. This approach recreates the atmosphere of an old Indian residence while incorporating the functional requirements of a contemporary dining destination.

Meanwhile, the outdoor section, Bagh-e-Jhoom, serves as a garden extension of the imagined mansion. While Kothi offers an indoor dining experience surrounded by heritage-inspired interiors, Bagh-e-Jhoom provides an open-air setting for guests. Together, the two spaces accommodate different dining and socialising preferences, reinforcing the restaurant’s emphasis on gatherings and shared experiences.

Jhoom’s culinary offering spans Indian, European, and Asian cuisines, bringing together familiar flavours and international influences. The Indian menu features signature dishes such as Jhoom’s Dal Makhani, Boneless Smoked Butter Chicken, Railway First Class Mutton Curry, and Peepe Wala Baigan Bharta. Additionally, the selection includes small plates inspired by Indian street food, complemented by house-made chutneys and pickles.

The European menu features pastas, risottos, grills, sandwiches, and hand-tossed pizzas. Similarly, the Asian selection includes sushi, dim sum, prawn tempura, ramen, Burmese Khao Suey, and Thai curries.

The dessert menu further combines traditional Indian preparations with international favourites. Its offerings include Old-School Caramel Custard, Coin Jalebi with Rabdi, and Gulab Jamun Brûlée.

“At Jhoom, the menu is about the journeys flavours have taken and the memories they carry with them. India’s culinary identity has always been shaped by exchange, with ingredients, techniques, and traditions travelling across regions and finding new expressions. We wanted to reflect that spirit by bringing familiar Indian comfort food together with European and Asian influences. The menu moves between the recognisable and the unexpected, with house-made chutneys and pickles adding their own sense of familiarity. Ultimately, we want guests to feel at home with the food while still discovering something new,” stated Janti Duggal, Food Director, Azure Hospitality Pvt Ltd.

In addition to its culinary offering, Jhoom has introduced a beverage programme inspired by traditional Indian refreshments, regional ingredients, historic cities, and cultural references. The cocktail menu features multiple signature collections, each designed to offer a distinct drinking experience.

The Verandah Club collection focuses on cocktails suited to relaxed social occasions. Its offerings include Shahi Tukda, Moon Over Pichola, The Sandalwood Throne, and Polki Pink Diamond. Meanwhile, The Ballroom presents a separate selection featuring Blue Maharaja, Gold Leaf Negroni, and Jhoom Coronation.

Vineet Kochar, COO, Azure Hospitality, said, “With Jhoom, the focus was on translating a strong concept into a cohesive experience across every touchpoint. The interiors establish the mood, the menu brings together diverse culinary influences, and the beverage programme adds another dimension through its ingredients, techniques, and storytelling. Each element has its own character, but the experience works as a whole. From the way guests encounter the space to the way they explore the food and drinks, our aim is to create a destination that feels distinctive, thoughtfully put together, and rewarding to return to.”
