Online skilling platform Airblack raises Rs 33-Cr in funding

Airblack, an online makeup and beauty learning platform, secured Rs 33 crore in funding. The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation led the investment, with participation from Elevation Capital, Info Edge Ventures, Blume Founders Fund, and Mars Shot VC.

The funding round did not disclose the startup’s valuation.

Founded by Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Videt Jaiswal, Airblack provides courses accredited by the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council and Skill India under the government of India.

With the newly secured funds, the platform plans to introduce additional skilling programs across various domains and establish hybrid learning centres in 10 cities within the following year.

“The company has doubled down on its focus on driving student outcomes across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities and emerged as a leading skilling player in the country with its focus on mobile-first delivery and learning-by-doing pedagogy,” it said in a statement.

The platform has catered to more than 35,000 students in 300 cities in three years.

“Our courses are designed to set our students up for real opportunities and start earning an independent livelihood. With this fundraise, expanding our impact through new courses and geographical presence, and becoming profitable will be our top priorities,” said Jaiswal.
