Fitness and sports technology startup OBSESS has raised an undisclosed amount in an angel funding round, attracting investments from Pushpendra Singh, co-founder of Centricity; angel investor Amitt Goel; and Harshit Vij, co-founder of Freecultr.
The startup will utilise the fresh capital to accelerate technology and product development, expand its network of gyms, fitness trainers, and sports venues, and strengthen user acquisition and operational capabilities. Additionally, it plans to establish strategic partnerships across the fitness and wellness industry.
OBSESS is also developing artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features to offer personalised workout plans, nutrition recommendations, and customised fitness experiences.
Founded by Tushar Sharma and Yash Kumar, the company is developing an integrated digital platform that brings together multiple services across the fitness and sports ecosystem.
The platform aims to connect consumers with gyms, personal trainers, sports venues, fitness products, nutrition solutions, and wellness services. At the same time, it intends to equip gyms, coaches, and sports venue operators with digital tools to streamline operations, improve customer engagement, and expand their businesses.
Based in Delhi NCR, OBSESS aims to address fragmentation within India’s fitness and sports industry, where consumers often depend on multiple applications and platforms to access fitness, sporting, and wellness services.
“We don’t want to build just another fitness application. We are building a platform that brings the different parts of the fitness journey together, so people can access the services they need without moving between disconnected platforms,” said Sharma.
With its integrated platform and AI-driven capabilities, OBSESS aims to simplify access to fitness and wellness services while supporting the digital transformation of gyms, trainers, and sports businesses.
