The World Surat has received the prestigious 5-Star Classification from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, marking a significant milestone for the property and Surat’s growing hospitality sector.

The recognition makes The World Surat one of the few hotels in Gujarat to receive the Ministry of Tourism’s 5-Star Classification. It also places the property among India’s officially classified 5-Star hotels, recognising its compliance with national standards for luxury hospitality, service excellence and operational quality.

The Ministry of Tourism’s classification process involves an extensive assessment of a hotel’s infrastructure, engineering systems, guest facilities, operational standards, service quality, food and beverage offerings, safety protocols, sustainability measures, accessibility, technology integration and overall guest experience.

The process also requires hotels to submit and verify more than 30 licences, statutory approvals and supporting documents. Hospitality experts regard the exercise as one of the industry’s most rigorous due diligence processes, with the Government examining multiple aspects of a property before awarding its highest category of recognition.

While many premium hospitality projects require years of operations before achieving the classification, The World Surat has met the required national benchmarks.

“The 5-Star Classification is more than a milestone for The World Surat; it reflects Surat’s established position as a global business and hospitality destination. Our vision has always been to create world-class infrastructure that complements the city’s remarkable growth and future aspirations. This recognition reinforces our commitment to positioning Surat among India’s leading destinations for business, tourism and international hospitality,” said Keyur Kheni, Founder & Custodian of the brand Hindva.

The recognition comes as Surat continues to strengthen its position as a major economic centre. Globally recognised as the Diamond City and one of India’s leading textile and manufacturing hubs, the city has expanded its infrastructure, smart urban planning and entrepreneurial ecosystem over the decades.

Despite its economic importance, Surat had long lacked a hospitality destination capable of catering to international business travellers, multinational corporations, investors, convention delegates and luxury leisure guests with facilities aligned with its global ambitions.

The World Surat has been developed to address this requirement while raising the city’s hospitality standards. Located in one of India’s fastest-growing economic regions, the property has been planned with a long-term vision linked to the country’s next phase of infrastructure-led growth.

The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor is expected to further transform regional connectivity. In the years ahead, Surat is expected to gain significantly faster connections, with journey times to Mumbai and Ahmedabad projected to be around an hour.

The expanding high-speed rail network is also expected to strengthen connections across northern and southern India, linking major destinations from Jaipur and Delhi to Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. This places The World Surat within an expanding economic corridor that is expected to play a significant role in India’s growth story.

Major hospitality developments around transportation hubs have emerged as important destinations in cities worldwide. Hotels near New York’s Grand Central Terminal, London’s St. Pancras International and Waterloo, Paris’s Gare de Lyon, Tokyo Station, and Seoul Station have benefited from connectivity and sustained business activity.

Against this backdrop, The World Surat has been envisioned as a future hospitality landmark as the city enters a new phase of infrastructure development. The property has been designed as an integrated hospitality destination combining luxury accommodation, premium dining, grand convention and banquet facilities, business spaces, lifestyle amenities and a state-of-the-art Data Storage Centre with ITeS facilities.

Royal Orchid Hotels Limited (ROHL), one of India’s established hospitality companies, professionally manages the property. The arrangement brings together Hindva’s development vision and ROHL’s hotel operations expertise.

The World Surat has also established itself as a destination for cultural experiences, including ‘Nav Avsar’, one of India’s prestigious and luxurious Navratri celebrations. Presented by the Hindva Group, Nav Avsar has developed into a major festive event, attracting participants and visitors from across the country year after year.

The 2026 edition of Nav Avsar will be exclusively curated by Parthiv Gohil and his team. Gohil is a renowned singer, composer, creative producer and one of Gujarat’s respected cultural visionaries.

As the Creative Producer of the musical spectacle Rajadhiraaj – Love. Life. Leela. and a driving force behind several successful Gujarati films and large-scale cultural productions, Parthiv Gohil brings a creative approach that combines tradition with contemporary entertainment for the upcoming Navratri experience.

Developed by the renowned Hindva Group, The World Surat forms part of the Group’s broader vision to create landmark developments contributing to Gujarat’s long-term growth. The Group also operates across multiple business sectors through strategic initiatives.

Among these businesses is HeartSheai Fintech Innovation Ltd., Hindva’s asset management company headquartered in GIFT City, Gujarat.

Recently, the company announced a strategic partnership with Mumbai-based Recce Digital Ventures, which operates under the FastRecce brand. FastRecce is India’s only end-to-end platform for location scouting, production management and production bookings.

FastRecce works with several of Mumbai’s leading film production houses and supports projects spanning films, OTT productions, television commercials, music videos, vertical dramas and VFX productions.

One of its key features is Reimagine, an AI-powered visualisation tool that allows production studios and filmmakers to digitally reimagine locations, sets and production environments during the planning process. The tool is designed to help production teams make faster and more informed creative decisions.

The platform manages more than 3,000 filming production locations across India and also owns and develops studio setups and custom-built sets. These include its own iconic plane-scene set featured in Aditya Dhar’s recent blockbuster film Dhurandhar.

Through its B2B production services, the platform has also supported multiple film productions, including the recent multi-starrer Welcome to the Jungle.

The World Surat’s 5-Star Classification marks a significant recognition for the property while reinforcing Surat’s emergence as a major business, tourism and hospitality destination. With its integrated hospitality offering, professional management by ROHL, cultural programming and strategic location within a rapidly developing economic corridor, the property is positioned to play a larger role in Surat’s evolving hospitality landscape.
