Traveltech startup Holiday Tribe is reportedly in discussions to raise around Rs 50 crore, equivalent to approximately USD 5.2 million, in a new funding round, with RPSG Capital Ventures among the potential investors.

The startup is actively engaging with the investment firm, although the proposed funding round has not yet been finalised. Consequently, the fundraising amount and investor participation could change as discussions progress. Queries sent to Holiday Tribe and RPSG Capital Ventures did not receive responses by the time of publication.

Founded in 2022 by former MakeMyTrip executives Anshu Sharma and Chirag Goyal, Holiday Tribe specialises in customised holiday packages that combine AI-powered planning with expert travel assistance. Its offerings include itinerary recommendations, bookings, and travel support for family vacations, honeymoons, luxury holidays, and group trips.

The platform features Avni, an AI-powered holiday planning tool, and offers travel options across domestic and international destinations, including Kerala, Bali, Dubai, Japan, Vietnam, and several European markets. Additionally, customers can request personalised travel quotes through the company’s travel advisors.

Holiday Tribe previously raised Rs 25 crore in a pre-Series A funding round comprising equity and debt. Powerhouse Ventures led the round, with participation from GSF and undisclosed angel investors. The startup had earlier secured Rs 5.4 crore in seed funding in 2024.

During its previous fundraising round, Holiday Tribe outlined plans to strengthen its artificial intelligence capabilities for personalisation, itinerary optimisation and customer assistance. The company also intended to expand its supplier network across emerging travel destinations. However, it has not disclosed how it plans to deploy the capital from the proposed funding round.

RPSG Capital Ventures, part of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, invests in early-stage businesses, with a focus on consumer-oriented sectors such as food and beverages, personal care, and lifestyle products and services.

The proposed funding comes amid growing investor interest in traveltech startups that use technology to deliver personalised holiday planning and booking experiences.

In July, Gurugram-based traveltech startup 30 Sundays raised Rs 61 crore in a Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Info Edge Ventures and Eximius Ventures.

The company provides itinerary planning, bookings, and on-trip assistance for Indian travellers going abroad, primarily focusing on couples. It planned to use the fresh capital to strengthen its AI capabilities, expand its engineering team, and enter new markets, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines.

30 Sundays uses artificial intelligence for lead qualification, itinerary creation, customer follow-ups, and reservations. At the time of its fundraising announcement, the startup reported an annualised gross booking value run rate of approximately Rs 200 crore across Bali, Vietnam, the Maldives, and Thailand.

Meanwhile, established travel platforms are also expanding their holiday package offerings. Earlier this month, TravClan raised USD 5 million through a combination of equity and debt. Flipkart and August One participated in the equity funding, while Trifecta Capital provided debt financing.

The partnership aims to help Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel expand their curated international holiday packages and on-ground support services. TravClan works with more than 15,000 travel agents to customise and book holiday packages, hotels, and activities, reflecting the growing role of technology-enabled distribution networks in the travel industry.
The post Traveltech startup Holiday Tribe eyes Rs 50-Cr in funding round appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Travel technology platform ixigo reported a profit of ₹63 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with a loss of ₹3.4 crore in the corresponding period last year. The improvement came as its flights and bus businesses recorded strong growth, while hotels emerged as a new growth driver. However, group CEO Aloke Bajpai said the profit was partly supported by a stake sale in bus operator FreshBus.

Revenue from operations increased 13% year-on-year to ₹320.96 crore in the quarter, while gross transaction value (GTV) climbed 22% to ₹5,304.47 crore. Additionally, contribution margin rose 14% to ₹124.86 crore.

Hotels emerged as one of ixigo’s fastest-growing businesses, with GTV increasing 2.6 times year-on-year to ₹111.34 crore, including Brevistay. Revenue from the segment also surged more than sixfold to ₹8.1 crore.

The company crossed 5,000 hotel room nights per day, with daily volumes growing 3.9 times year-on-year. It recorded approximately 4.7 lakh room nights during the quarter, positioning its hotel business among India’s fastest-growing online travel agency (OTA) operations in the segment.

Q2 FY27 also marked the first quarter in which ixigo disclosed hotels as a separate business segment. The company reported 159% year-on-year growth in hotel GTV and 528% growth in revenue, alongside a gross take rate of more than 12%. Moreover, over 86% of hotel bookings came from its existing captive user base.

Ixigo’s hotel inventory comprises more than 70,000 properties across India, including over 12,000 directly contracted properties spread across 1,100 towns.

As ixigo seeks to diversify beyond its core train, flight, and bus booking platforms, hotels are emerging as an important growth avenue. The company plans to continue investing in the segment and artificial intelligence (AI) to support its long-term expansion.

Meanwhile, flights and buses remained key contributors to quarterly performance, with GTV growing 37% and 32% year-on-year, respectively.

Ixigo also expanded its distribution network by enabling train bookings through Uber, building on its existing bus booking integration. Additionally, its food delivery services through Zoop and Swiggy now cover more than 290 railway stations.

According to the company, higher airfares and limited availability of confirmed train tickets continued to support demand for intercity bus travel. At the same time, ixigo continued investing in customer experience and expanding its supply network.

Its bus booking platform, AbhiBus, also introduced Women Zone, a booking option designed specifically for solo women travellers.

Commenting on the results, Bajpai said ixigo delivered resilient growth, recording quarterly GTV of ₹5,304 crore and revenue from operations of ₹321 crore.

“Our PAT was an all-time high aided by our partial sale of stake in FreshBus. Flight and bus led the quarter with GTV growth of 37% and 32% year-on-year, respectively,” he said.

“From this quarter onwards, we are disclosing a new line of business of hotels, which grew GTV 2.6 times year-on-year to ₹111 crore, with a gross take rate of more than 12%. We continue to invest in hotels and AI as key drivers of our long-term growth,” Bajpai added.
The post ixigo reports ₹63-Cr profit in Q2 FY27 as hotel business gains momentum appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Gurugram-based travel technology startup 30 Sundays has raised Rs 61 crore in a Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Info Edge Ventures and Eximius Ventures. The company will use the fresh capital to strengthen its AI-powered travel platform, expand internationally, and enhance customer experience.

The startup plans to invest the new funding in product development, technology infrastructure, and artificial intelligence capabilities. Additionally, it will expand its workforce while increasing investments in brand building and marketing to accelerate growth across new markets and customer segments.

After recently launching operations in New Zealand and Mauritius, 30 Sundays is preparing to expand into Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines, further strengthening its international presence.

The company describes itself as an AI-native, full-stack holiday planning platform that manages the complete customer journey, from travel discovery and itinerary creation to bookings and on-trip concierge services. According to the startup, it has achieved an annualised gross booking value (GBV) run rate of around Rs 200 crore across its four major destinations—Bali, Vietnam, the Maldives, and Thailand.

“Planning a holiday has too long meant static PDFs, endless follow-ups, and mark-ups you discover only later. We built 30 Sundays to make travel honest and effortless. Every customer gets a trip designed around them, sees exactly what they’re paying for, and has a guide in their pocket the moment they land,” said Kshitij Chaudhary, Co-founder & CEO, 30 Sundays.

The company believes India’s outbound leisure travel market, currently valued at approximately $25 billion, continues to grow at an annual rate of around 11.4%. It attributes this growth to an expanding middle class, relaxed visa policies for Indian travellers, and the increasing availability of international low-cost airlines.

Meanwhile, 30 Sundays has integrated artificial intelligence across its sales and operational workflows, including lead qualification, itinerary creation, customer follow-ups, and reservation management. As a result, the company claims to have achieved 2X productivity within its sales team.

“The way they (30 Sundays) use AI with a human in the loop to customise and support every traveller’s journey has shown remarkable speed of adoption amongst customers. Very few new consumer platforms see their kind of organic and referral numbers so soon,” said Kitty Agarwal, Partner, Info Edge Ventures.

With fresh capital in hand, 30 Sundays aims to strengthen its AI-driven travel planning ecosystem, expand into new international destinations, and capture a larger share of India’s rapidly growing outbound tourism market.
The post AI travel startup 30 Sundays bags Rs 61-Cr to fuel global expansion appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Travel fintech startup Scapia has announced a ₹20 crore employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) buyback, providing liquidity to eligible employees as the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s travel and fintech ecosystem.

Under the buyback programme, eligible employees can sell up to 10% of their vested stock options, allowing them to realise value from their equity holdings.

The announcement follows Scapia’s recent $63 million Series C funding round, led by General Catalyst, with participation from existing investors Peak XV Partners and Z47. Over the past year, the startup has secured more than $100 million in funding as it accelerates its expansion beyond its co-branded credit card business to build a comprehensive travel platform.

Founded in 2022 by Anil Goteti, Scapia operates at the intersection of financial services and travel technology. The company offers co-branded credit cards in partnership with Federal Bank and BOBCARD, alongside a travel platform that enables customers to book flights, hotels, trains, buses, visas, experiences, and other travel services.

The startup also reported strong business growth over the past year. Flight bookings increased five to six times year-on-year, while hotel bookings surged nearly eightfold during the same period. Additionally, Scapia said its credit cards have been used across 113 currencies in 174 countries, and it has introduced one of India’s dual-network credit cards that supports both Visa and RuPay.

Currently, Scapia serves customers across more than 17,500 pincodes nationwide through its integrated travel platform and financial products.

The company also posted improved financial performance in FY25. Its operating revenue grew 71% to ₹29 crore, compared with ₹17 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, its net loss narrowed to ₹83 crore from ₹88 crore a year earlier, reflecting progress toward improving operational efficiency.

Scapia joins a growing number of Indian startups offering liquidity opportunities to employees through ESOP buybacks. Industry data indicates that nine startups have collectively completed ESOP buybacks worth more than $270 million in 2026, including BrowserStack, Innovaccer, CoinDCX, Unacademy, Tractor Junction, Emversity, Cashfree Payments, Plum, and Kratikal.

More recently, e-commerce giant Flipkart also approved its second discretionary ESOP liquidity programme, which is expected to be worth approximately $25 million.
The post Travel fintech startup Scapia launches ₹20-Crore ESOP buyback appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Travel booking platform ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Ltd) has approved the acquisition of a 54.66% stake in flexible-stay hotel network Brevistay (Brevistay Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.)Ltd.) for a total investment of Rs 65.69 crore, according to a regulatory filing.

The company will execute the transaction through a combination of primary and secondary share purchases, subject to the fulfillment of conditions outlined in the definitive agreements. Upon completion of the deal, Brevistay will become a subsidiary of ixigo.

Furthermore, ixigo disclosed that it retains the right to acquire the remaining stake in Brevistay in the future, subject to the fulfillment of certain pre-defined conditions. This provision provides the company with a potential pathway to full ownership as it continues to strengthen its position in the hospitality and travel technology sectors.

The acquisition represents a significant milestone in ixigo’s strategy to expand its hotel business and deepen its presence across India’s rapidly growing accommodation market. By integrating Brevistay’s offerings, ixigo aims to enhance its hotel inventory, improve customer experience, and unlock new growth opportunities within the travel ecosystem.

Founded in 2016, Brevistay has established itself as India’s largest flexible-stay hotel network. The platform specializes in short-duration and overnight hotel bookings, catering to a growing segment of travelers seeking flexible accommodation options for business trips, transit stays, leisure travel, and day-use bookings.

Following the acquisition, the combined hotel network of ixigo and Brevistay will encompass more than 10,000 directly contracted hotels across India. Consequently, the transaction will significantly accelerate ixigo’s hotel onboarding efforts while strengthening its competitive position in the online travel and hospitality industry.

Announcing the acquisition, Aloke Bajpai, Group CEO, ixigo, and Rajnish Kumar, Group Co-CEO, ixigo, said, “Together (with Brevistay), we see significant opportunities to leverage technology, AI, and distribution to create a more comprehensive accommodation ecosystem for Indian travelers while helping our hotel partners maximize utilization and revenue, targeting a diverse pool of hotel bookers.”

The acquisition also aligns with broader trends in the travel technology industry, where companies increasingly leverage artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital distribution networks to deliver personalized travel experiences and improve operational efficiency. By combining Brevistay’s expertise in flexible-stay accommodations with ixigo’s extensive travel platform and technology capabilities, the companies aim to create greater value for both travelers and hotel partners.

Moreover, the deal strengthens ixigo’s ambitions to become a comprehensive travel ecosystem provider. Beyond transportation bookings, the company continues to expand into adjacent segments such as hotels, vacation stays, and travel services, thereby increasing customer engagement and revenue diversification.

India’s hospitality sector has experienced strong growth in recent years, driven by rising domestic tourism, business travel, digital adoption, and increasing demand for flexible accommodation solutions. As travelers seek greater convenience and customization, platforms offering innovative booking models such as short-stay and hourly hotel bookings continue to gain popularity.

ixigo’s acquisition of a majority stake in Brevistay marks a strategic move to strengthen its position in India’s evolving travel and hospitality market. By integrating Brevistay’s extensive flexible-stay hotel network with its own technology-driven travel platform, ixigo aims to create a more comprehensive accommodation ecosystem for travelers while helping hotel partners improve occupancy and revenue. The deal not only expands ixigo’s hotel portfolio but also reinforces its long-term vision of becoming a leading end-to-end travel technology platform in India.
The post ixigo expands hospitality footprint with acquisition of flexible-stay platform Brevistay appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

India’s travel fintech sector continues to witness strong investor interest as digital-native consumers increasingly seek integrated financial and travel experiences. In the latest development, Scapia has raised $63 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst, with continued participation from existing investors Peak XV Partners and Z47.

The company said the fresh capital will be used to scale its customer base across India while accelerating its AI-first strategy across products, operations, and organisational development.

Anil Goteti said: “We are excited to have General Catalyst join us as a partner, and the continued investment from Peak XV and Z47 is a strong validation of what we have built and where we are headed. Today, Scapia is a comprehensive travel ecosystem powered by a financial product at its core, designed for a generation of Indians that treats travel as a way of life. This round will help us strengthen our product suite further, bring more value to our customers through more offerings, scale the brand and bring in the best talent as we double down on building an AI-first culture and product approach. Our focus remains unchanged: building products that help our users travel and lead richer lives.”

Founded around the idea of building a travel-first financial ecosystem, Scapia operates at the intersection of two rapidly growing trends in India — the rise of digital financial adoption and the growing travel aspirations of younger consumers. The company has built a platform focused on how modern Indian travellers discover, plan, book, and experience travel experiences through integrated financial tools and rewards systems.

According to the company, flight bookings on the platform have grown 5-6 times year-on-year, while stays have increased nearly 8 times compared to the previous year. The startup also noted growing demand from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, which are contributing an increasing share of overall bookings.

A substantial portion of the newly raised funding will also be directed toward building an AI-native organisation and strengthening the Scapia brand across India. The company plans to expand teams across engineering, product development, data science, and design as it deepens its focus on artificial intelligence-driven consumer experiences.

Neeraj Arora said: “India’s next wave of great consumer companies will be built around behaviors that are genuinely new – not just digital versions of what came before. Scapia understood early that a generation of Indians for whom travel is a baseline expectation, not an aspiration, needed a financial product designed around that identity. The 7x customer growth last year and the depth of what they’ve built across the travel stack give us real confidence in where this goes. We’re glad to be part of it.”

Sakshi Chopra said: “As travel becomes an important part of how young Indians live and spend, consumers are looking for financial products built around that behaviour. Scapia has created a seamless travel-fintech experience spanning payments, rewards, zero forex markup and travel benefits in a way that deeply resonates with users. The team has combined strong product thinking with sharp execution, and we are excited to continue partnering with them as they scale.”

Vikram Vaidyanathan said: “We have backed Scapia since their very first round, and every round since has only deepened our conviction. From the dual-network card to Scapia Pay to Airport Privileges, few teams in Indian fintech have shipped this much, this fast, while staying disciplined on compliance. As consumer experiences turn AI-native, we are convinced Scapia will earn its place as a household name for the modern Indian traveller.”

Scapia currently offers co-branded credit cards in partnership with Federal Bank and BOBCARD. The company was also the first in India to launch a dual-network co-branded credit card supporting both Visa and RuPay networks.

The startup has positioned itself as an early mover in zero forex markup offerings for international spending while also expanding airport-related experiences beyond traditional lounge access into dining, shopping, and duty-free benefits. According to the company, one in three users now prefer shopping and dining experiences over conventional lounge access.

Over the last six months, the company has expanded its ecosystem with multiple new offerings including Scapia Pay, add-on credit cards, BBPS-enabled bill payments, Scapia Store, and travel-focused experiences. Its rewards ecosystem, powered by Scapia Coins, enables users to earn and redeem points across flights, trains, buses, hotels, visa services, and travel experiences.

The latest funding round reflects the broader momentum within India’s fintech and travel sectors, where companies leveraging artificial intelligence, embedded finance, and experience-driven ecosystems are increasingly shaping the next generation of digital consumer platforms.
The post Scapia raises $63 Mn to expand AI-First travel fintech platform appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Uber Technologies has unveiled an in-app hotel booking feature in partnership with Expedia Group recently, thereby accelerating its push to become a one-stop platform for travel, ride-hailing, and food delivery services.

With this move, Uber aims to increase user engagement and unlock new revenue streams by integrating end-to-end travel services into its ecosystem. As competition intensifies in the mobility and lifestyle space, the company is actively positioning itself to capture a larger share of consumer spending across transportation, accommodation, and dining.

The company announced the feature at its annual GO-GET event, where it confirmed that U.S. users can now search and book from over 700,000 hotels worldwide directly within the Uber app. Expedia’s extensive travel inventory powers the feature, while vacation rental listings from Vrbo, owned by Expedia, will join the platform later this year.

Additionally, the partnership reflects strong executive alignment, as Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, previously led Expedia before joining Uber in 2017. This strategic connection further strengthens the collaboration between the two companies.

Moreover, Uber stated that members of its Uber One subscription program will receive at least 20% discounts on a selection of 10,000 hotels and earn 10% back in Uber Credits on bookings. Users can easily access the new “hotels” tab on the app’s home screen, apply filters based on price, ratings, and amenities, and complete bookings using their existing Uber wallet, thereby ensuring a seamless user experience.

Furthermore, Uber continues to expand its travel-focused offerings. Starting June, the company will extend Uber One benefits internationally, while it will introduce a new “travel mode” that provides location-specific ride guidance along with curated recommendations for dining and attractions.

In addition, Uber has rolled out several new features to enhance convenience and personalization. The “eats on the way” feature allows riders in select U.S. cities to pre-order snacks or drinks during premium rides. Meanwhile, the “shop for me” feature enables users to request items from stores that are not currently listed on Uber Eats.

The company has also introduced AI-powered voice booking and a unified search function that integrates rides, food, and retail services within a single interface. Through these innovations, Uber is actively advancing its ambition to become a “super app” that delivers multiple services through one platform.

Uber reported that its Uber One membership base reached 46 million users in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking a 55% year-on-year increase. This growth underscores the rising adoption of subscription-based models and highlights Uber’s expanding ecosystem.

Uber’s integration of hotel booking services in partnership with Expedia signals a major step in redefining digital travel and mobility platforms. As consumers increasingly demand convenience, personalization, and integrated services, Uber’s super app strategy positions it to lead the next phase of innovation in the global travel and lifestyle economy.
The post Uber launches in-app hotel booking with Expedia, expands super app strategy in travel and mobility appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Holy Hotels has introduced resort and villa bookings on its platform, thereby expanding its accommodation portfolio and aligning with evolving travel preferences across India. With this strategic move, the company aims to cater to the rising demand for premium, private, and experience-driven stays.

Moreover, the newly added categories provide users access to a curated selection of resorts and private villas, specifically designed for leisure travellers, families, and groups seeking enhanced space, privacy, and flexibility. At the same time, this expansion builds on the platform’s existing offerings, including shared apartments and homestays. Additionally, it complements Holy Hotels’ offline booking support, which continues to differentiate the platform in an otherwise highly digital travel booking ecosystem.

As travel behaviour continues to shift, demand for accommodations offering privacy, comfort, and a personalised experience has steadily increased. According to data from the Press Information Bureau, India recorded over 303 crore domestic tourist visits in 2025, highlighting the scale of domestic tourism and the growing preference for intentional travel. Consequently, travellers now increasingly choose flexible stays such as resorts and private villas across multiple segments.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Deepak Chhabra, Director of Holy Hotels said, “The way people travel is changing. Travellers today are looking for experiences that align with their purpose of travel. With the addition of resorts and villas, we are expanding choice on the platform while continuing to keep booking simple and accessible.”

Furthermore, the company continues to prioritise its hybrid booking model, which combines online discovery with offline assistance. This approach allows travellers to receive personalised guidance whenever required, whether they are planning villa stays, coordinating group travel, or managing complex itineraries. As a result, Holy Hotels strengthens its position in the competitive travel and hospitality technology space.

Looking ahead, Holy Hotels plans to introduce additional accommodation categories, including guesthouse bookings, an expanded range of apartments, and upgraded homestay options with improved discovery and booking features. These enhancements will not only broaden the platform’s inventory but also significantly improve the overall user experience.

As domestic travel continues to grow rapidly, Holy Hotels remains focused on building a comprehensive travel platform that caters to diverse budgets, travel styles, and preferences. Ultimately, the company aims to simplify the process of discovering and booking suitable accommodations across India while meeting the evolving expectations of modern travellers.

Holy Hotels’ expansion into resort and villa bookings reflects the broader shift in India’s travel landscape towards personalised and experience-led stays. By enhancing its offerings and leveraging a hybrid booking model, the platform is well-positioned to capitalise on the surge in domestic tourism and redefine convenience in travel booking.
The post Holy Hotels launches resort and villa bookings amid rising demand for private stays appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.
