Gurugram-based premium grocery startup Solgram has raised over $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital. Hospitality entrepreneur Kapil Chopra also participated in the round as an investor.
The latest investment comes less than three months after the company’s launch and will support its expansion strategy. Solgram plans to utilise the fresh capital to strengthen its cold-chain infrastructure, enhance its technology platform, establish stronger sourcing partnerships, and scale its operations across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Founded by Shashank Shekhar Sharma, Solgram operates a premium grocery platform offering fresh produce, dairy, meat, seafood, and other temperature-sensitive products. The company focuses on preserving product freshness and quality through an integrated cold-chain supply network.
Furthermore, Solgram manages multiple stages of its supply chain, including procurement, quality assessment, storage, order fulfilment and delivery. Its platform operates temperature-controlled stores with dedicated sections for different product categories. Additionally, the company uses sealed thermal packaging and specialised last-mile delivery infrastructure to maintain appropriate temperatures while transporting perishable goods.
Solgram’s product portfolio includes fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, meat, seafood, bakery items, gourmet pantry essentials, and emerging food brands. Moreover, the platform features a health-focused shopping category called Mindful Mode, which offers products with cleaner labels, nutritional information, and details about sourcing practices.
To accommodate different customer preferences, Solgram provides scheduled batch deliveries as well as express delivery services.
Currently, the grocery startup serves customers in Gurugram and plans to expand across the NCR before entering other Tier-I cities in the coming months. However, the company intends to establish operational scale and maintain consistent service quality within each market before expanding into additional locations.
With its latest fundraise, Solgram aims to strengthen its technology-led cold-chain operations and build a scalable premium grocery delivery network across urban markets.
