Food-tech startup Easy Cater launches hyperlocal food delivery platform as it expands to tier 1 and tier 2 cities

Easy Cater, an emerging Indian food-tech startup, has officially launched its nationwide hyperlocal food delivery platform, with Vadodara serving as its first lighthouse market. Since activating the platform on June 17, 2026, the company has witnessed strong early traction by recording more than 33,500 app downloads within just a few weeks. Building on this momentum, Easy Cater has already begun onboarding restaurant partners in Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur, Indore, and Nagpur as it accelerates its expansion across India’s rapidly growing Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.

The food-tech startup aims to transform India’s food delivery ecosystem by addressing long-standing challenges faced by both restaurants and consumers. While restaurants often struggle with high commission charges imposed by traditional food delivery aggregators, customers frequently pay inflated prices due to hidden platform markups. Therefore, Easy Cater has introduced a transparent, commission-light business model that enables restaurant partners to earn higher profits while allowing customers to enjoy fair and competitive pricing.

Unlike conventional food delivery platforms that primarily focused on India’s largest metropolitan cities, Easy Cater has strategically chosen to prioritize emerging urban centers where food delivery demand continues to rise rapidly. According to industry estimates, Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets already contribute nearly 48% of India’s total food delivery orders by volume. Furthermore, analysts expect the Indian food delivery market to reach approximately USD 270 billion by 2034, creating significant growth opportunities for hyperlocal food-tech companies.

To strengthen its community-first approach, Easy Cater has developed several culturally inspired in-app features that celebrate local food ecosystems while supporting independent food businesses.

One of its standout features, Local Legends, highlights iconic restaurants and food establishments that have shaped the culinary identity of each city over generations. Meanwhile, the Street Food section integrates local street food vendors into the digital food economy, giving customers convenient access to authentic regional flavors while helping small vendors expand their customer base.

Additionally, the Value Picks category showcases affordable meals and food items priced between ₹25 and ₹150, making quality food accessible to budget-conscious consumers. The platform also features Women Owned, a dedicated section that promotes women-led food businesses, ranging from established restaurants to neighborhood street food vendors. Complementing these offerings, Flavor 52 introduces a new regional taste profile every week, encouraging customers to discover unique cuisines throughout the year.

Easy Cater has already partnered with more than 1,000 restaurants in Vadodara, creating a strong local ecosystem under its homegrown digital platform. Moreover, the application features a culturally rooted Homegrown Interface along with a Diamond Loyalty Programme that rewards customers with one loyalty point for every rupee spent on the platform.

Commenting on the launch, Nimish Kadakia, Chief Technology Officer of Easy Cater, said, “Our goal wasn’t just to build another delivery app; we built a transparent food commerce ecosystem. By keeping our technology lean and our merchant tools powerful, we’re able to eliminate hidden fees and maximize bottom-line returns for our restaurant partners. Every feature of Easy Cater, from the fair-pricing architecture to our curated ‘Flavor 52’ engine, is designed to prove that world-class technology can truly serve the local community and empower local businesses.”

Rather than pursuing a nationwide rollout all at once, Easy Cater has adopted a carefully planned city-by-city expansion strategy. The company intends to establish a strong hyperlocal presence in every market before entering the next, ensuring deeper engagement with local restaurants, vendors, and customers. This measured approach enables the platform to build sustainable ecosystems while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.

The Easy Cater app is currently available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, allowing users across its operational cities to experience transparent pricing, community-driven food discovery, and affordable food delivery services.

Easy Cater has entered India’s competitive food delivery market with a differentiated strategy focused on transparency, affordability, and community empowerment. By reducing commission costs for restaurants, promoting local food businesses, and prioritizing Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, the food-tech startup aims to reshape India’s hyperlocal food delivery landscape. With rapid early adoption, an expanding restaurant network, and innovative app features, Easy Cater appears well-positioned to capture a meaningful share of India’s fast-growing food-tech industry.
