The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group has announced a Rs 600 crore expansion plan over the next five years, aiming to add approximately 1,000 keys to its existing inventory of 2,300. The group plans to develop around 50 percent of the new keys through owned properties, while the remaining 50 percent will come through management contracts.
With over four decades of operating experience, the group currently operates 14 hotels across India, including 12 luxury properties and two mid-scale hotels under The LaLiT Traveller series.
The group will invest its own capital across five destinations to strengthen its owned portfolio. The LaLiT Ahmedabad leads the development pipeline with a 240-key luxury hotel scheduled to open ahead of the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Additionally, the group plans to establish a presence in Chitrakoot with approximately 50 keys.
The expansion strategy also covers existing properties. At Bekal, the group’s 26-acre site between the Arabian Sea and the Nombili River will receive an additional 100 keys. Similarly, the hotel in Goa will add 50 keys through new wings and additional villas. In Udaipur, the group plans to construct two new wings, adding 55 keys, while expanding its banquet and spa facilities. Together, these developments will strengthen the group’s presence in established markets and emerging destinations while expanding its owned portfolio.
Over the past 40 years, the company has built The LaLiT into a hospitality brand with the systems, processes, people, and resources required to operate hotels at scale. Building on this experience, the group now aims to extend its expertise beyond owned assets through an asset-light growth model while maintaining its philosophy of ‘Hospitality with a Heart’.
Vrindavan will be the first property under this model, with approximately 75 keys. Meanwhile, the group is exploring expansion opportunities in Chennai, Hyderabad, Leh, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Lakshadweep, Siliguri and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, alongside several other distinctive destinations.
“Over the next decade, we plan to invest Rs 600 crore in properties where we own the land, while using management contracts to expand where our partners bring the capital. We look forward to exploring opportunities to expand our portfolio through several management contracts. But expansion cannot come at the cost of identity. Whether we own the property or manage it, every LaLiT hotel must carry the same spirit and character, with standards that define us,” said Jyotsna Suri, chairperson and managing director, The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group.
