Bengaluru-based textile technology startup Whizzo is reportedly in talks to raise around USD 26 million in its Series B funding round. Aavishkaar Capital and Bertelsmann Investments could co-lead the round, according to a media report.
Additionally, existing investors Fundamentum and Lightspeed Venture Partners are likely to participate in the proposed funding round, sources said.
The potential fundraise comes approximately six months after Whizzo secured USD 15 million in its Series A round, led by Fundamentum with participation from South Korean investor LB Investment and Lightspeed. The startup planned to use the proceeds to strengthen research and development (R&D) and build proprietary intellectual property in materials science.
Earlier, in January 2025, Whizzo raised its first institutional funding in a round led by Lightspeed Ventures. The startup intended to deploy the capital towards advanced R&D, setting up a design lab for fashion-engineered textiles and expanding its supply chain.
Founded in 2024 by Shrestha Kukreja, Whizzo operates as a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), offering textile design and R&D services to clients across India, Vietnam, China, and Bangladesh.
The company integrates R&D, formulation, prototyping, process engineering, and commercial-scale manufacturing under one roof. Moreover, it serves business-to-business manufacturers by developing materials for applications across geotextiles, agricultural textiles, protective and flame-retardant materials, specialty yarns, engineered apparel textiles, and industrial composites.
Whizzo also develops proprietary textile blends by leveraging materials science and sustainability-focused processes. These capabilities support its efforts to deliver specialised textile solutions across diverse industrial applications.
The proposed Series B funding comes amid growing investor interest in technology-driven textile manufacturing and materials innovation. Consequently, companies are increasingly investing in proprietary materials, R&D, and manufacturing capabilities to enhance product development processes.
