PRISM, FICCI join forces to strengthen India’s events sector

PRISM, the corporate parent of OYO, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to help build a more structured, collaborative, and growth-focused ecosystem for India’s rapidly expanding events industry.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), PRISM and FICCI will explore avenues to deepen cooperation across the event management and hospitality ecosystem. The partnership will focus on enabling industry collaborations, facilitating knowledge sharing and creating new growth opportunities for businesses operating across the sector.

As part of the collaboration, the organisations will work towards strengthening industry standards for the planning, execution, and safety of large-scale events across sectors. They will also facilitate knowledge exchange through joint workshops, seminars, and training programmes for event management professionals.

Furthermore, the partnership will support skill development by creating structured learning pathways and certification programmes. It will also provide insights into emerging trends, changing consumer expectations, and new opportunities shaping India’s evolving event management ecosystem.

The partnership comes as India’s live-events and concert economy continues to expand rapidly. The Government of India has established the Live Event Development Cell (LEDC) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to address regulatory, infrastructure, safety, and operational challenges while supporting the development of the live-events ecosystem.

According to the FICCI–EY Media & Entertainment Report 2026, India’s organised live-events segment grew 44 percent in 2025 to approximately Rs 14,500 crore. The segment is projected to reach around Rs 19,600 crore by 2028, highlighting the sector’s growing economic significance.

Speaking on the occasion, Varun Jain, chief operating officer, PRISM said, “Events today require much more than efficient execution. They bring together hospitality, technology, operational excellence, stakeholder management, and increasingly, safety and security. This partnership with FICCI reflects our shared commitment to raising the bar for event management in India. By combining PRISM’s on-ground expertise with FICCI’s reach and policy influence, we can help build a more professional, safe, and future-ready event ecosystem for the industry.”

Anant Swarup, secretary general, FICCI added, “India’s events sector growth has consistently outpaced the frameworks needed to govern it. Too often, safety, standards, and skilling have played catch-up to scale. Our partnership with PRISM changes that equation by bringing an organised, on-ground operator to the table to help design the benchmarks this industry has needed for years. This is about building the guardrails for a sector that is set to create multiple job opportunities.”

The collaboration builds on PRISM’s ongoing efforts to strengthen operational standards across its areas of business while also reinforcing FICCI’s role as a bridge between industry stakeholders and policymakers in India.

Going forward, both organisations expect the partnership to deliver tangible outcomes through joint programmes and initiatives. The partners will announce further initiatives over the coming months as they work to strengthen standards, skills, safety, and collaboration across India’s events ecosystem.
