Alive App, India’s AI-powered experience-tech platform, has raised $1 million in a new funding round led by Powerhouse Ventures and Flipkart Ventures. The company will use the fresh capital to expand its product and technology capabilities while increasing its supply of experiences across its existing markets.
Additionally, the investment from Flipkart Ventures will allow Alive App to explore potential synergies across the wider Flipkart ecosystem. Through these opportunities, the company aims to create new ways for consumers to discover, engage with, and access experiences at scale.
The company plans to strengthen its technology and product infrastructure while accelerating the development and availability of experiences across its markets. Moreover, Alive App is targeting 3X revenue growth over the next few months as it works to increase consumer engagement and usage frequency.
The company also aims to establish Alive App as a regular destination for weekend discovery. Meanwhile, Alive App has recorded its first profitable quarter in Bengaluru, its first and largest market, as it continues to increase its presence and supply density across cities.
Currently, Alive App operates across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Goa. The platform offers more than 500 experiences spanning adventure, food, wellness, art, culture, and learning. At the same time, its creator and partner network has expanded to more than 400 members.
Over the past six months, Alive App has entered Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi while continuing its operations in Goa. Furthermore, the company said experience supply across Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, and Goa has expanded five times faster than during its initial expansion phase. As a result, Alive App now adds approximately 100 new experiences every month.
The company’s platform data also points to changing leisure preferences among urban consumers. More than 90% of bookings take place for local experiences, indicating that consumers increasingly prefer activities closer to home rather than using experiences primarily as part of travel plans.
Consequently, Alive App sees the experience economy evolving from an occasional, travel-focused activity into a more regular component of urban consumption. The company combines technology with curated and largely exclusive experiences and works directly with creators to conceptualise, develop, and launch offerings instead of simply aggregating existing listings.
With the latest funding, Alive App will therefore shift its focus from establishing its presence across individual cities to encouraging repeat usage. The company wants consumers to discover experiences as naturally as they choose a restaurant, watch a movie, or plan a day out for the weekend.
Vivek Kumar, Founder & CEO, Alive App, said, “Over the last year, the biggest validation for us has been seeing how quickly experiences are being adopted as an upgrade to weekend plans in every city we enter. Mumbai and Chennai are growing much faster than Bengaluru did in its early months, while our supply in the newly launched cities has grown five times faster than in our initial expansion phase. We are now adding around 100 new experiences every month. The opportunity ahead is to make Alive App the default weekend companion for urban India, something people return to every week to discover what they want to do next.”
Kshitij Golwalkar, General Partner, Powerhouse Ventures, said, “Alive App stands out as one of the most differentiated and capital-efficient companies we have seen in this category. What is particularly compelling is how the team is using AI not only as a product feature but also across the business to rethink how consumer technology companies can be built, scaled, and operated in India. We believe this combination of a strong consumer proposition, differentiated supply, and an AI-led operating model gives Alive App the potential to be a leader in India’s rapidly growing experience economy.”
