										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>W Hotels, Marriott International’s lifestyle luxury brand, is looking forward to transform Delhi NCR’s luxury hospitality market as it prepares to enter the region. Strengthening its hospitality portfolio, <a class="qbe-widget" href="https://www.dsgroup.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>DS Group</strong></a>, a leading FMCG conglomerate and diversified business corporation, has partnered with Marriott International to develop a new W Hotels property in Delhi NCR.</p>
<p>The upcoming luxury hotel, scheduled to open in the second half of 2027, will involve an investment of approximately Rs 400 crore and feature 200 premium guestrooms. The property will occupy a strategic location near Indira Gandhi International Airport and Aerocity, one of the most prominent hospitality and commercial hubs in Delhi NCR. The location will enable the hotel to cater to growing demand from both business and leisure travellers.</p>
<p>The project marks a significant milestone for India’s hospitality industry as it introduces the W Hotels brand to Delhi NCR for the first time. It will also become only the second W Hotels property in India after Goa. As a result, the development will add a fresh lifestyle-driven luxury hospitality offering to a market traditionally dominated by conventional luxury hotel brands.</p>
<p>Globally, W Hotels has established a strong presence across major international destinations, including London, New York, Dubai, and Singapore. The Delhi NCR property will combine the brand’s signature design-led philosophy, vibrant social experiences, and service excellence with elements inspired by local culture and heritage.</p>
<p>The hotel aims to attract a new generation of luxury travellers who seek immersive experiences, creative environments, and personalised hospitality. Furthermore, the project reflects the growing preference for lifestyle-focused hotels among younger, experience-driven consumers and affluent travellers.</p>
<p>W Hotels Delhi NCR will leverage its prime location, globally recognised brand identity, and substantial investment commitment to position itself as a landmark destination in the region’s evolving luxury hospitality landscape.</p>
<p>Highlighting the opportunity within India’s rapidly expanding hospitality sector, Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, DS Group, said, “The Indian hospitality sector is currently witnessing an unprecedented growth trajectory, fueled by a robust surge in domestic travel and a significant demand-supply mismatch in the premium segment. With approximately 0.27 hotel keys per 1,000 people compared to the global average of 2.2, India’s hotel penetration rate is roughly one-tenth of the global standard. As marquee global players are rapidly expanding their footprints across the Indian landscape, New Delhi remains the indispensable gateway to the high-value diplomatic and corporate echelons that ultimately establish a brand’s equity and authority in the subcontinent. The launch of Marriott International’s W Hotels brand reinforces our continued commitment to the hospitality business and marks a significant milestone in DS Group’s growth strategy, aligned with our long-term vision of providing unparalleled experiences to our guests.”</p>
<p>Kumar further revealed that DS Group is pursuing an aggressive hospitality expansion strategy. The company plans to double its existing room inventory by 2029 and invest Rs 1,000 crore over the coming years. The expansion will primarily focus on luxury and midscale hospitality segments across high-growth Tier I and Tier II cities.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, DS Group currently operates six hospitality assets across key destinations, including Namah Nainital, Namah Jim Corbett, Radisson Blu Guwahati, InterContinental Jaipur, Renaissance Bengaluru, and Holiday Inn Express Kolkata. Furthermore, the company continues to strengthen its presence in India’s hospitality sector through strategic investments and partnerships across premium and luxury hotel segments.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hospitality group <a href="https://www.theresidency.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Residency Hotels</strong></a> has unveiled plans to invest between Rs 500 crore and Rs 600 crore over the next three years to develop three new luxury hotels across South India. The strategic expansion comes as the company simultaneously advances two hospitality projects in Mysuru and develops its second property in the Maldives.</p>
<p>The investment forms part of the company’s broader growth strategy aimed at strengthening its presence in key markets across southern India. The Residency Hotels will develop the upcoming hotels in Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III cities and add between 450 and 500 rooms to its portfolio.</p>
<p>Speaking about the expansion plans, Rohit Ravi, managing director of The Residency Hotels, said, “An investment of about Rs 500 crore to Rs 600 crore has been earmarked for developing properties in new locations where we currently do not have a presence. The hotels will be located in Tier I, II, and III cities across South India and will collectively add 450-500 rooms.”</p>
<p>The Residency Hotels operates as the hospitality arm of Chennai-headquartered Appaswamy Real Estates. The group currently manages eight hotels across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, including properties in Chennai, Coimbatore, Karur, and Rameswaram.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the company recently strengthened its luxury hospitality portfolio by launching The Residency Signature, a luxury hotel-cum-convention centre in Madurai. With an investment of approximately Rs 450 crore, the group developed the 191-key property to capitalize on the growing demand for premium hospitality experiences in the region. Additionally, the hotel aims to attract leisure travelers, business guests, destination weddings, and MICE events, further enhancing the company’s presence in the luxury hospitality segment.</p>
<p>Moreover, Ravi said the Madurai property is strategically positioned to capitalize on the growing opportunities in destination weddings, meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism. At the same time, the hotel aims to benefit from the rapid industrial growth taking place across southern Tamil Nadu, creating additional demand from business travelers and corporate events.</p>
<p>Highlighting the region’s tourism and business potential, Ravi said, “About one lakh to 1.5 lakh foreign tourists visit Madurai every year. Moreover, rapid industrialisation is taking place in Virudhunagar and Thoothukudi districts, including shipping-related projects, creating tremendous business opportunities for us. We will also introduce two robots for restaurant services at the Madurai property.”</p>
<p>The company also continues to strengthen its international presence through its Maldives expansion plans. The Residency Hotels has partnered with Marriott to manage its second luxury property in the island nation. The upcoming resort will feature between 90 and 100 villas and aims to attract premium leisure travelers from global markets.</p>
<p>Providing an update on the project, Ravi said, “The property, which is currently under construction, will be inaugurated in 2027.”</p>

<p>The signing also marks IHG’s entry into Canary Wharf, one of London’s leading financial and business districts, further expanding the hospitality company’s presence in key gateway destinations.</p>
<p>Canary Riverside Plaza, a Vignette Collection by IHG, will feature 142 guestrooms and suites with views of the River Thames and the City of London. In addition, the property will offer a restaurant and bar, meeting and event spaces accommodating up to 200 guests, and access to a neighboring health club and spa.</p>
<p>Strategically located in Canary Wharf, the hotel aims to attract both business and leisure travellers. Moreover, its strong connectivity to central London and international transport hubs is expected to enhance its appeal among domestic and global visitors.</p>

Through this latest expansion, the hospitality chain aims to capitalise on the rising demand for branded accommodation and organised event infrastructure in rapidly developing regional cities.</p>
<p>The upcoming property will operate under the Cygnett Inn brand, which serves the contemporary midscale hospitality segment. Moreover, the company has designed the hotel to cater to business travellers, leisure guests, and social events in the region.</p>
<p>Located in Bihar’s East Champaran district, Motihari has steadily evolved into a growing commercial and cultural hub due to improving connectivity, expanding trade activity, and rising educational and business movements. Additionally, the city continues to attract attention because of its historical association with Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha movement. As a result, the region has witnessed increasing demand for organised hospitality and modern event venues.</p>
<p>The hotel will offer 70 well-appointed rooms along with several guest-focused amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, swimming pool, gymnasium, and spa facilities. Furthermore, the project will place strong emphasis on meetings, conferences, celebrations, and social gatherings, positioning the property as a key hospitality destination in the region.</p>
<p>A major highlight of the development will be its large-scale banqueting and event infrastructure. The property will feature three event venues, including a 5,500 sq. ft. banquet hall connected to a sprawling 17,000 sq. ft. outdoor lawn. Consequently, the hotel will become a preferred venue for weddings, corporate events, social functions, and large gatherings. In addition, the property will include two dedicated meeting spaces measuring approximately 1,600 sq. ft. and 575 sq. ft., respectively, for conferences, private meetings, and business events.</p>

Notably, this dual signing adds 217 keys and reinforces the Group’s strategy to expand across high-growth peripheral corridors within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), where hospitality demand continues to move beyond traditional central business districts.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar project will come up at Vihang Ventura on Mira Bhayandar Road, a prominent commercial corridor with access to National Highway 48 and Mumbai’s western suburbs. Vihang Ahead is developing the project, positioning it as the first five-star hotel in the Mira Bhayandar micro-market.</p>

<p>The Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar will feature 103 rooms, thereby catering to rising hospitality demand in emerging business corridors. Additionally, the property will include all-day dining and specialty restaurants, a bar, banquet and meeting facilities with pre-function areas, and amenities such as a gym and swimming pool. As a result, the hotel will support MICE, corporate, and social event requirements while introducing an internationally branded hospitality experience to the micro-market.</p>
<p>Moreover, the Mira Road location will benefit from upcoming metro connectivity, which will significantly enhance accessibility to the broader city. Consequently, Mira Bhayandar continues to evolve as a key micro-market within the MMR, supported by infrastructure upgrades and increasing commercial activity.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Thane and Mira-Bhayandar have emerged as key business corridors within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, driven by infrastructure growth, commercial development, and increasing corporate presence, particularly from the IT and BFSI sectors. Consequently, demand for quality hospitality infrastructure has risen steadily in these locations.</p>
<p>With this development, Radisson Hotel Group, along with Vihang Group and Vihang Ahead, has further strengthened its presence in the Mumbai region. Currently, the Group operates four hotels in the city and has three additional properties in the pipeline, thereby reinforcing its expansion trajectory in India’s hospitality sector.</p>

<p>In terms of capacity, Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane will offer 114 rooms, while Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar will provide 103 rooms, collectively addressing the growing need for premium hospitality in emerging business hubs. Notably, the Mira Bhayandar property will introduce an internationally branded hotel to the area, thereby enhancing its positioning within the regional hospitality landscape.</p>
<p>Strategically, Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane will be located along Pokhran Road, close to key office developments and retail hubs, with connectivity through National Highway 48 and access to Thane Railway Station, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, and Navi Mumbai International Airport. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="https://www.chalethotels.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Chalet Hotels Limited</strong></a> has acquired Seasons Hotels Private Limited — the owner of Inder Residency Resort and Spa — for a total consideration of ₹171 crore. With this move, the K Raheja Corp-backed hospitality company has officially entered Udaipur, one of India’s most sought-after leisure and destination wedding markets. The board approved the transaction on April 24, 2026, and the company aims to complete it by May 15, 2026.</p>
<p>The acquired property includes a 144-room hotel spread across 8.2 acres, featuring nearly 3 acres of landscaped lawn area, extensive banqueting facilities, two restaurants, and a bar. Consequently, the property’s scale and infrastructure position it strongly to cater to high-demand segments such as weddings, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and leisure travel, which consistently drive tourism growth in Udaipur.</p>
<p>Seasons Hotels Private Limited, incorporated on December 27, 2001, commenced commercial operations of the hotel in October 2008. Over the past three financial years, the company reported audited turnover of ₹74.3 million in FY25, ₹103.5 million in FY24, and ₹97.2 million in FY23. Therefore, these figures indicate that the asset has operated below its full potential, thereby offering significant upside through strategic repositioning.</p>
<p>Importantly, Chalet Hotels has structured this acquisition as a buy-renovate-reposition strategy rather than a simple operational takeover. The company has clearly stated that it will upgrade the property into an upper-upscale or premium lifestyle destination. During the refurbishment phase, the hotel will remain non-operational. In addition, Chalet Hotels is actively evaluating expansion opportunities, including increasing room inventory beyond the current 144 keys, given the substantial 8.2-acre land parcel.</p>
<p>This repositioning aligns closely with Chalet Hotels’ broader portfolio strategy. Currently, the company operates 11 hotels and resorts with 3,389 keys under globally recognised brands such as JW Marriott, The Westin, and Novotel. Therefore, upgrading the Udaipur asset into a premium lifestyle offering will ensure alignment with the company’s high-end hospitality portfolio rather than adding a mid-market property.</p>
<p>Moreover, Chalet Hotels has introduced its in-house premium lifestyle brand, ATHIVA, which focuses on experience-led hospitality. As a result, the company may position the Udaipur property under this brand as part of its repositioning strategy.</p>
<p>Shwetank Singh, Managing Director and CEO of Chalet Hotels Limited, said, “We are delighted to announce our entry into Rajasthan with the acquisition of this resort in Udaipur, a market we have been keen to enter. This investment reflects our continued focus on expanding in high-growth leisure destinations with strong long-term potential. The property is well-located and offers significant headroom for value creation through refurbishment, repositioning, and expansion. As we enhance and reposition the resort, our focus will be on creating a high-quality, experience-led destination that delivers both strong guest appeal and long-term value.”</p>
<p>The transaction involves the acquisition of 100% equity shares of Seasons Hotels Private Limited. Chalet Hotels will execute the deal in tranches, with completion targeted by May 15, 2026, or another mutually agreed date. The ₹171 crore consideration will be paid entirely in cash, without any share swap component. Furthermore, the transaction does not qualify as a related party deal, and neither the promoter nor the promoter group holds any interest in the acquired entity. Notably, the company does not require regulatory approvals to complete the acquisition.</p>
<p>Strategically, this acquisition marks a significant shift in Chalet Hotels’ growth trajectory. The company has traditionally focused on business hotels in metropolitan cities; however, it is now diversifying into leisure destinations across India. Udaipur, which consistently ranks among India’s top domestic tourism and destination wedding locations, fits perfectly within Chalet’s high-growth leisure market strategy.</p>
<p>At present, Chalet Hotels has approximately 1,510 rooms under development in addition to its existing 3,389 operational keys. Simultaneously, it is expanding its commercial real estate portfolio from 2.4 million square feet to 3.3 million square feet. Therefore, the Udaipur acquisition strengthens its presence in the leisure segment while complementing its ongoing expansion in business and commercial real estate.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Indian hospitality firm <a href="https://www.chalethotels.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Chalet Hotels</strong></a> will introduce its first Ritz-Carlton property in India with a flagship launch in Hyderabad, according to managing director and chief executive Shwetank Singh. This move marks Chalet’s entry into the ultra-luxury hotel segment while strengthening its presence in one of its strongest markets.</p>
<p>The company’s board has approved the development of a 330-room luxury hotel in Madhapur, Hyderabad, which will also include around 36,255 square feet of commercial or retail space. Moreover, Chalet will develop the project under a warm shell lease arrangement with Mindspace, ensuring faster execution and optimized capital deployment. Once the hotel becomes operational, it will stand as Chalet Hotels’ third property in Hyderabad.</p>
<p>Singh stated that Chalet expects to invest nearly ₹630 crore in the project, while the company will fund this amount through a mix of internal accruals and debt. At the same time, Mindspace will invest approximately ₹300 crore toward the overall development. As a result, the total project cost will reach nearly ₹930–940 crore for a 333-room luxury hotel, translating to a cost of under ₹3 crore per room.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Singh highlighted that Chalet secured favorable terms through its long-standing association with Marriott International, making this project the company’s first foray into the ultra-luxury category. He emphasized that Hyderabad continues to deliver strong performance for Chalet and consistently exceeds expectations as a hospitality market.</p>
<p>Looking ahead, Singh expressed confidence in achieving solid rental yields and healthy bottom-line returns from the property. He also noted that Chalet aims to complete the project within 36 months, although the company may finish construction ahead of schedule depending on execution progress.</p>
<p>Chalet Hotels’ decision to bring the Ritz-Carlton brand to Hyderabad signals a strategic expansion into ultra-luxury hospitality. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Zon Hotels Mumbai Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between the SanRaj Group and DGS Group, has begun discussions with <a href="https://www.ihg.com/hotels/us/en/reservation" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>IHG Hotels &amp; Resorts</strong> </a>for a proposed luxury hotel in Mumbai’s western suburbs. As part of this development, the parties have entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a 350-room greenfield hotel project, with a strong focus on a luxury brand such as InterContinental.</p>
<p>This proposed association represents a significant milestone in the expansion of global hospitality brands across Mumbai’s western business corridors. At the same time, the collaboration underscores SanRaj Group’s strategic role in bringing international hospitality operators into high-growth urban markets.</p>
<p>The parties formally signed the MOU on January 21, 2026, at 4:00 pm at the Holiday Inn, Mumbai. Sudeep Jain, Managing Director – South West Asia, IHG Hotels &amp; Resorts, executed the agreement on behalf of the global hospitality group, while Rajdip Gupta, Director, signed on behalf of Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Pvt Ltd. Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Pvt Ltd is promoted by its Directors—Sandip Gupta, Rajdip Gupta, Ishwar Shukla, and Rohit Shukla.</p>
<p>Importantly, the non-binding MOU reflects Zon Hotels Mumbai’s intent to develop a landmark luxury hotel in India. Following this step, the project will move into the construction phase after the execution of a definitive Hotel Management Agreement. This process will take place after the completion of due diligence, detailed planning, and the receipt of necessary internal and regulatory approvals from both Zon Hotels and IHG.</p>
<p>Commenting on the development, Sandip Gupta and Rajdip Gupta said, “The Western Region of Mumbai is fast emerging as an important commercial and business hub in Mumbai, supported by improved infrastructure and growing corporate activity. This project aligns with our vision of developing high-quality hospitality assets that would cater to the evolving needs of both business and leisure travellers. Collaborating with IHG would further strengthen our commitment to delivering globally benchmarked hospitality developments.”</p>
<p>In addition, Ishwar Shukla and Saurabh Parsrampuria highlighted the strategic value of the collaboration and said, “We are excited about this potential collaboration with IHG. Our focus is on delivering a premium guest experience supported by global operational systems, strong brand equity, and professional hotel management.”</p>
