Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, through CPP Investment Board Private Holdings (4) Inc., will invest up to ₹3,000 crore in Prestige Hospitality Ventures Ltd (PHVL) and acquire an aggregate stake of approximately 27%, according to a regulatory filing by Prestige Estates Projects.

The investment will take place across three tranches and will combine a primary capital infusion into PHVL with a secondary purchase of shares from Prestige Estates Projects. Consequently, the transaction will provide both fresh capital to PHVL and proceeds to its parent company.

Under the first tranche, Prestige Estates will receive ₹950 crore by selling equity shares in PHVL to CPP Investments. At the same time, PHVL will raise another ₹550 crore by issuing Series A compulsorily convertible preference shares to CPP Investments.

Furthermore, PHVL will raise ₹750 crore each through the issuance of Series B and Series C compulsorily convertible preference shares under the second and third tranches, respectively.

Overall, Prestige Estates will receive ₹950 crore through the secondary share sale, while PHVL will secure ₹2,050 crore in fresh capital through the primary investment.

Following the completion of the transaction, CPP Investments will receive certain governance and affirmative voting rights in PHVL. Additionally, the transaction documents will provide CPP Investments with exit options through either an initial public offering of PHVL or a put option against Prestige Estates and PHVL after five years from the transaction’s completion.

CPP Investments said the transaction represents its first direct investment in India’s hospitality sector. Meanwhile, PHVL owns and develops luxury and premium hotels and maintains a development pipeline across Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

Separately, Prestige Estates Projects said it has issued a corporate guarantee for a loan facility of up to ₹400 crore that PHVL will avail from Axis Bank. The company has provided the guarantee to secure the borrowing of its wholly owned hospitality subsidiary.
The post CPP Investments to invest ₹3,000-Cr in Prestige Hospitality Ventures appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Spree Hospitality has signed eight new properties during Q2 FY27, strengthening its presence across India’s business and leisure hospitality markets. The latest agreements mark another step in the company’s asset-light expansion strategy.

The newly signed properties span Kolhapur, Karjat, Pune, Jaisinghpur, Indapur, Goa, Zirakpur, and Angul. Consequently, Spree Hospitality will strengthen its footprint across established commercial hubs as well as emerging leisure and destination markets.

Moreover, most of these properties are expected to commence operations within the next six months. The company will therefore focus on preparing each property for a smooth launch while working closely with its hotel partners and operating teams.

Spree Hospitality is pursuing an asset-light growth model that centres on long-term partnerships with hotel owners. Through this approach, the company will bring its operating systems, brand standards, distribution network, and guest-centric practices to the newly signed properties.

In addition, the latest signings will expand the company’s presence across Maharashtra, Goa, Punjab, and Odisha. The properties will cater to a combination of business travellers, leisure guests, and destination-driven demand across these markets.

Sagar Khurana, Chief Operating Officer, Spree Hospitality, said, “Signing eight new properties in a single quarter is encouraging for us, but what is equally important is the quality of the partnerships we are building and the markets we are entering.

Our focus has always been on growing responsibly and building long-term relationships with our hotel partners. With most of these properties expected to open within the next six months, our immediate priority will be to work closely with our partners and teams to ensure smooth openings and establish each hotel strongly in its respective market.

As we continue to expand, we remain committed to our philosophy of DO MORE—for our guests, our hotel partners, and our people.”

Meanwhile, Spree Hospitality said the latest signings will further strengthen its operating platform across India. At the same time, the company will continue to prioritise hotel-owner partnerships and asset-light expansion as it grows its portfolio.
The post Spree Hospitality expands India portfolio with 8 new hotels appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Moustache Group of Hotels has added Sisodia Bagh, a boutique resort in Kukas, Jaipur, to its Luxuria by Moustache portfolio. With the addition, the hospitality group is expanding its presence in Rajasthan while strengthening its collection of distinctive leisure properties across key destinations.

Sisodia Bagh formally opened in October 2025 after the revival of a heritage property. The resort combines Rajasthani architectural influences with contemporary hospitality and occupies a location along the Jaipur-Delhi corridor, close to Jaipur’s northern heritage circuit.

The property features rooms and suites, a swimming pool, spa facilities, concierge services, and personalised guest experiences. Moreover, its location places it around 18 minutes from Amer Fort, 25 minutes from Jal Mahal, and approximately 30 minutes from Hawa Mahal and the City Palace.

Positioned as a convenient weekend getaway from Delhi, Jaipur, and nearby cities, Sisodia Bagh caters to couples, families, groups, and other leisure travellers. The property can attract more travellers seeking weekend breaks and short-stay leisure experiences.

“Jaipur continues to be one of the country’s strongest leisure markets, supported by its heritage, food, weddings, family travel, and short-break demand. Sisodia Bagh allows us to participate in that demand through a more intimate and resort-led experience,” said Abhishek Khandelwal, Co-founder and Director, Moustache Group of Hotels. “Through Luxuria by Moustache, we want to retain what is unique about each property while enhancing the personalized hospitality experience for guests. The addition also reinforces our commitment to building a stronger luxury hospitality presence across Rajasthan,” he added.

Sisodia Bagh surrounds guests with landscaped greens, courtyards, open spaces and fresh air while making wellness a key part of the guest experience. The resort provides spa services and a self-meditation corner, along with a year-round swimming pool.

The latest addition follows King’s Abode in Ranakpur, which joined Luxuria by Moustache as its ninth property in September.

Tamara Leisure Experiences (TLE) plans to expand its portfolio from nine properties currently to 40 by 2030, backed by a ₹600 crore development pipeline. The company will maintain a balanced 50:50 mix between owned and asset-light properties as it scales across India.

The portfolio will span multiple hospitality segments, including experiential luxury, destination resorts, faith-based hospitality, Ayurveda and wellness, five-star city hotels, and value-led business stays. Through this diversified strategy, TLE aims to serve travellers across different destinations, budgets, and travel motivations.

Samir MC, CEO, Tamara Leisure Experiences, said, “India is an extraordinary place to build hospitality because the opportunity is not concentrated in one kind of destination or one kind of traveller. Quiet luxury and spiritual travel are two of the fastest-growing currents in Indian tourism, and experiential stays sit at the centre of both. Travellers want to belong to a place, not simply pass through it.

Our ambition is to build a group that can respond to those varied needs while allowing every experience to retain its own character. A balanced owned and asset-light model, supported by technology and AI-led guest intelligence, gives us the ability to understand the traveller better, build continuity across journeys, and grow with where India is travelling next.”

For Tamara Resorts, ownership remains an important part of how the company develops properties and connects them with their surrounding communities. As part of its expansion, TLE is moving eastwards into Kaziranga, where it plans to bring its resort concept to a wildlife destination shaped by its grasslands and Assamese communities.

The company believes its ownership model gives it greater control over the pace and approach of resort development. Meanwhile, India’s luxury travel market is projected to grow at 10.8% annually through 2033, creating further opportunities for destination-focused hospitality.

TLE is also expanding its resort portfolio across South India. The company plans to launch a 24-houseboat luxury resort in Alleppey in 2026 and is developing a 50-key farm resort in Hosur.

Wellness represents another key growth segment for TLE. India’s wellness tourism market is projected to reach USD 116.3 billion by 2035, with annual growth of 15.3%.

Amal Tamara, TLE’s NABH-accredited Ayurveda hospital and retreat in Alleppey, anchors the company’s wellness portfolio. Furthermore, TLE is incorporating its Ayurveda expertise into wellness and regeneration experiences across its resort properties.

TLE has also entered Kufri through its first asset-light signing under the Lilac brand. The property will target travellers seeking slower, landscape-led experiences in the Himalayas.

Faith-based travel represents another major expansion opportunity for the company. Religious tourism accounts for 60% of domestic travel, while pilgrimage destinations currently account for 6% of India’s branded hotel keys, according to figures shared by TLE.

Rae by Tamara, the group’s faith-focused hospitality brand, currently operates hotels in Guruvayoor and Kumbakonam. The brand also plans to develop an 80-key property in Velankanni. In addition, asset-light signings in Tirupati, Tiruvannamalai, and Palani will expand its presence across temple towns in South India.

The company is also planning a 120-key hotel in Bodh Gaya while exploring opportunities in Varanasi, Amritsar, and Ajmer. Through these developments, TLE aims to cater to the changing nature of pilgrimage travel, as senior travellers, multigenerational families, and younger visitors increasingly combine spiritual journeys with cultural and wellness experiences.

In western India, TLE is exploring opportunities in Jaipur, Pune, and Ahmedabad, where business travel, leisure, culture, and domestic tourism intersect. The company is also tracking India’s growing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) market, which is projected to expand from USD 49.4 billion in 2024 to USD 103.7 billion by 2030.

O by Tamara and Lilac will target business and leisure travellers across different markets. TLE is developing a 200-key O by Tamara in Whitefield, Bengaluru. The company also plans a 125-key Lilac and a 60-key Lilac in Kannur, while it has developed a dedicated wedding and events venue in Madurai.

Together, O by Tamara and Lilac will target opportunities across more than 100 Indian cities. The two brands will therefore complement TLE’s destination, luxury, wellness, and faith-focused hospitality offerings.

With South India as its base, TLE is expanding across diverse destinations and travel segments. Its roadmap includes Himalayan stays, wildlife resorts, pilgrimage hotels, Ayurveda and wellness properties, city hotels, and business-focused accommodation.

Overall, the company’s 40-property target reflects its strategy of building a diversified hospitality portfolio while allowing each brand to retain a distinct identity. The combination of owned and asset-light properties will support TLE’s expansion across India’s evolving travel and hospitality landscape.
The post Tamara Leisure Experiences targets 40 properties by 2030 appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Summit Hotels & Resorts has signed a 24-key property in Samthar, an emerging mountain destination in West Bengal, as the hospitality company expands its presence across lesser-explored destinations in the Eastern Himalayas. Scheduled to open in October-November 2026, Summit Samthar—The OtiEat Collection will join the company’s recently launched OtiEat portfolio, which focuses on destinations located beyond established tourist circuits.

Located around 30 km from Siliguri, Samthar offers a setting surrounded by forests, tea gardens, and Himalayan landscapes. Unlike established hill stations in the region, the destination remains relatively underexplored and provides opportunities for nature-led and slow travel, hiking, and birdwatching.

The upcoming property will feature 24 rooms facing Kanchenjunga, with each room offering a private balcony. In addition, the resort will include an in-house restaurant, private lawn, tea garden, children’s play area, common sitting spaces, and extensive outdoor areas.

“Samthar represents exactly the kind of destination we believe has considerable potential for the next phase of leisure travel in the region. Our experience in the Eastern Himalayas has shown us that when hospitality reaches a lesser-known destination, its impact goes beyond the hotel itself. It creates local employment, generates demand for transport and other services, and allows us to source produce and everyday requirements from local shops and suppliers. We have seen this around properties such as Summit Bougainvillea Tea Resort in Tindharia, Summit Tashi Ghang Heritage Resort in Pelling, and Summit Enigma Resort & Spa in Lamahata. Our aim in Samthar is to become part of the local economy while introducing more travellers to the destination without taking away the character that makes it worth discovering,” said Sumit Mitruka, Founder & CEO, Summit Hotels & Resorts.

Furthermore, the signing advances Summit Hotels & Resorts’ strategy of moving beyond established tourism centres and entering smaller destinations across the Eastern Himalayas. Destination development forms a key part of the OtiEat Collection, with the company expecting hospitality investments to support local employment, tourism services, and longer visitor stays.

For Samthar, Summit expects the new property to introduce the destination to a broader leisure audience. At the same time, the resort could encourage travellers to extend their North Bengal itineraries and explore lesser-known areas of the region.

The new signing also forms part of Summit Hotels & Resorts’ broader portfolio strategy, which operates across three propositions. OtiEat focuses on emerging destinations, Signature offers premium destination hospitality, while Mandir centres on spiritual tourism.

Through these three propositions, Summit Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its hospitality presence across diverse travel destinations while developing properties around emerging leisure, premium, and spiritual tourism markets.
The post Summit Hotels signs 24-Key property in Samthar, West Bengal appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.

Hospitality-focused AI startup Dextr AI has raised $6.7 million in seed funding in a round led by Elevation Capital, with participation from Foundation Capital. The company plans to use the funding to develop its products, expand its team and software integrations, and scale deployments across hospitality markets.

Founded in July 2025 by Sajid Shariff and Scott Arnold, Dextr develops specialised AI agents for hospitality businesses. Its technology supports guest management, reservations, back-office operations, staff management, sales and marketing.

The startup said its platform is currently deployed across hundreds of properties in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. These include franchised properties operating under brands such as Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western and IHG.

Dextr processes more than one million interactions each month. Its technology also handles tens of millions of dollars in payments through phone reservations each month for its customers. The company initially focused on handling guest requests before expanding into reservations and other hotel operations.

Its current portfolio includes AI agents for voice reservations, guest management, workforce operations, and sales and marketing. The agents are designed to integrate with existing hospitality systems, allowing operators to use the technology without replacing their underlying systems.

Dextr is also launching Doss Gen 1, a command layer that enables hotel employees to control its AI agents through plain-language text or voice instructions. The system includes role-based permissions, an audit trail and controls designed to support consistency across multiple properties.

The company has also reported improvements in online ratings following deployments of its guest-management technology. According to Dextr, properties using its Alfred agent recorded an average increase of 0.4 points in online travel agency ratings within 90 days.

“Hospitality operators have a deep staffing shortage that leads to gaps in service, revenue leakage, broken guest experience, and overworked staff. Our mission is to enable a fully agentic workforce that fills in the gaps, and enable staff to focus their time where it really matters – on guests,” said Sajid Shariff, co-founder and CEO of Dextr AI.

“The speed at which Dextr is winning hospitality is a testament to the urgency of the problem,” said Krishna Mehra, partner at Elevation Capital.

Dextr’s latest funding comes as hospitality businesses increasingly explore AI applications across reservations, guest communication and internal operations.
The post Dextr AI Raises $6.7 Million to Expand AI Agents for Hospitality appeared first on Business Review Live | Business News, Reviews | Entrepreneur Stories, Interviews | Kerala | India.
